Did You Break Your Probation?
Arlington, Fairfax, Alexandria, Virginia Probation Hearing Lawyer
You could be facing jail or new restrictions if you violated terms of probation. I will help respond to the accusations and seek to get you back in the judge's good graces.
I have practiced in criminal defense for 20 years in northern Virginia. Contact me if your probation is in danger of being revoked for any violation:
- An arrest on new criminal charges
- Failing to report to your probation officer
- A positive drug test
- Failing to complete community service or treatment
Probation Violations — Damage Control
When my clients walk free from court, I always tell them to follow the judge's orders exactly and do everything the probation officer says. I understand that things happen — old friends and old bad habits, three steps forward but one step back. But the court may not be so understanding if my client has to come back and explain a new arrest or why he or she didn't do what the judge or probation officer told him or her to do.
I try to get the new charge dismissed or reduced so it will not affect your probation. If you violated other terms, I recommend proactive steps to put yourself in a better position — pay all fines, get a clean drug screen, re-connect with your P.O., etc.
I will go into the probation hearing with you to emphasize what you are doing right to keep you on probation — or argue for alternatives to jail such as drug treatment, work release or house arrest.
